One Room Challenge- Week 3

Last week Chris,The Taskmaster, spent a few days putting up all our molding and trim from Metrie.  It was so fun to see the progress each day.

I can’t tell you how much it adds to the space. After it was all up I had it painted in Farrow and Ball’s All White.

I have to admit I was a little nervous to do such a bright white but I really love how it turned out.  We also laid out our newBirmingham Black Indoor/Outdoor Rug from Dash & Albert.

My kids immediately grabbed the rod it came rolled in and started to be ninjas! I have always always loved the Birmingham rug. It’s classic, modern and bold plus this one is an indoor/outdoor option which makes it great for Dining Room!
One of the biggest decisions for the space was choosing the head chairs for the table.

For the head chairs I really wanted something with a slipcovered look.  You know how there are some types of furniture that always pull on your heartstrings? That is how I feel about slipcovered furniture. I ended up choosing the Sierra Arm Chair pair from Joss & Main.

There were delivered last week and I love them.  They are a perfect greige tone. I love how they contrast with the white walls.

They are also the perfect dimensions for the dining table. I love when an armchair can still slide easily under and out of the dining table.

Another key part of this space is a shelf to put along the back wall.  The shelves are going to act as a dish cabinet for my extra serving pieces but also need to store all the art supplies for the “craft room” portion of this space.  I wanted to bring in some wood shelves to add some warmth to the space because the white walls can com off cold.  These are the options I considered.

I really loved the Bookcase with the ladder and 4 drawers but I didn’t have enough room for the ladder with my table and chairs. So I ended up going with the Industrial Bookcase with handles and rail. I think it’s really pretty and will offer up tons of storage it this space which I really need!
Tomorrow I’ll be sharing the dining table I found! I’m in love with it!!
Please check in every Wednesday to see the progress of my Dining Room!  And don’t forget to check in with all my fellow design bloggers!

It looks beautiful! What color are your walls in this room? They look light gray I the photos.

Those chairs! I’ve been thinking about two for the end of my dining table. Do you think one could DIY the slip cover? hmm? In any case, I’m loving your plans. Can’t wait to see the end result : )

Beautiful! I loved all of this and those chairs are perfect. I wonder how they will hold up with the Ninjas?

I love that rug. Plain and simple. And since I have a yellow lab AND a black lab, I shall never own that rug hahaha.

We’ve been doing free and cheap upgrades wherever we can – like hiding our window A/C units.
